Debra Jarvis began her work with All Souls Unitarian Church as the Church Administrator on January 27, 2014 and is responsible for church administrative and financial affairs. Prior to that, for the last ten years, Debra ran a management consulting business in which she did consulting and training in strategic planning, project management, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion for non-profits and public safety organizations. Previously, she was a Fire Chief for eight years in the Chicago suburbs and also served for five years previous as the Director of Education and Safety with the Lawrence Township Fire Department in Indianapolis. Her education includes a Master of Arts degree in Leadership Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Management. On the personal side, Debra has been married to Greg Jarvis for 19 years and has seven step children and six grandchildren, all in various parts of the United States. A few of her hobbies include photography, gardening, nature hikes, floral design and knitting.
Director of Lifespan Faith Formation
Nancy Olson joined the staff of All Souls in June 2014 stepping into the newly created role of Director of Lifespan Faith Formation. The Director of LFF is responsible for the religious education program and activities for children through adults. In the past Nancy developed programs for children, youth and adults with the Girl Scouts, YWCA, Planned Parenthood, and community mental health agencies. In addition, Nancy served First Unitarian Church in Portland, OR as Director of Adult Programs. Nancy has a Masters degree in Pastoral Care and Clinical Counseling from Christian Theological Seminary and is certified as a professional life coach.
When not engaged in developing programs, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, exploring new places, house projects, volunteering and keeping up with her spiritual practices. Nancy and her partner, Ann, live in Franklin, Indiana.
Director of Music
Greg Sanders currently serves as Director of Music at All Souls Unitarian Church, where he conducts the All Souls Choir. In addition to his work at All Souls he is the Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. Greg has long been an active choral musician in Indianapolis, performing in concert as pianist and assistant director with choruses at Butler University, Franklin College, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. He finished his master’s degree in choral conducting in May of 2011, where he studied with Dr. Eric Stark and Mr. Henry Leck.
Aside from his choral work, Greg is a vocal coach and chamber musician, performing extensively at the piano in recitals, festivals, conferences, and master classes in Indianapolis and regionally. He has held staff and faculty piano positions at Butler University and Franklin College where he coached and performed with many instrumentalists and singers, as well as taught courses in applied piano, accompanying and chamber music. Greg is a regular pianist for several Indianapolis-based musicians. He has given recitals at numerous regional colleges and universities.
Greg has performed in many parts of North America, including Chicago, Montreal, and the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as in concerts in Europe, including tours in England, Greece and Italy as the assistant conductor of the Butler University Chorale.
Custodian / Security
Milton is All Souls’ most tenured staff member, 21 years! His job comprises the sexton and security positions and he lives on property in an apartment on the lower level of the RE wing. Milton has two grown children and several grandchildren. He is a NASCAR fan and enjoys the Indiana State Fair in August.
