Inspired by our magnificent Holtkamp organ and the fine musicians who have preceded us, the members of All Souls Unitarian Church create music in many ways. Music Director Greg Sanders conducts a choir of dedicated volunteers and section leaders who sing regularly; the Holtkamp is played nearly every Sunday by skilled keyboardist Tiantian Liang; monthly, we host a variety of guest performers to complement our services. All musical selections are made in a spirit of cooperation to enhance the program of the day.
Music at All Souls also sponsors an annual concert series, originally conceived to showcase the beautiful Holtkamp organ but expanded to include fine musicians in all genres. All Souls is dedicated to featuring the many fine musical artists who live here in the state of Indiana. Previous engagements have included organ recitals by Professor Marco Petricic of the University of Indianapolis, Dr. John Allegar from Second Presbyterian Church, and our very own Tiantian Liang, and choral appearances by ensembles from DePauw University and Butler University. We have also hosted a variety concerts focused on social justice, including a recital of art songs from the Harlem Renaissance and a whimsical “Gender Bender” as a part of the Sprit and Place Festival. The 2013-14 series included internationally renowned violist Csaba Erdelyi with pianist Eugenio Urrutia, a centennial celebration of English composer Benjamin Britten, and the All Souls Choir in a program entitled Illumination: Songs of Light.
Whether you are an active participant or an engaged listener, All Souls offers you a musical home.
